What kind of accommodation do you prefer on vacation? I have stayed in many different accommodation types already and although I adored those cute little beach bungalows, tropical resorts and luxurious hotels that Bali and Gili have to offer, I must admit that the comfort and tranquility of a private pool villa really has something special!
For me it’s always a challenge to choose where to stay, as I love the fact that I don’t have to cook or clean up in hotels, and in a private villa that’s not always the case. But in Bali they go all out! We found 2 of the nicest villas on the island with all the amenities you need, lots of space, privacy, a gorgeous pool and even your own butler, who will make you feel completely at home and will spoil you so much, that you will never want to leave again!
In this blog I share many of my own pics of these 2 pool villas, so you can see for yourself why these are among my favourites and are some of the top private luxury pool villas on Bali.

The first villa we stayed in is located in Sanur:
The Gangsa Private Villa Sanur by Kayumanis
We really liked Sanur for its authentic vibe, small town charm, and at the same time buzzing center. Here you have many authentic eating options, as the restaurant street is long and diverse. And when you cross the street you quickly get to the beach, where they have many more restaurants, beach clubs and chill spots.
The prices in Sanur are still low, the atmosphere is relaxed and less touristy and the sunset and beach views are amazing! Just see for yourself.
Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa is one of the 4 locations of the Kayumanis group. This chain with small groups of private villas located in Sanur, Ubud, Nusa Dua and Jimbaran offer space, privacy, tranquility and personalized service, and have been providing luxury villa accommodation and signature hospitality since 2002. They have a talent for making you feel completely at home while being pampered to the max!
With the strong Kayumanis name it was only logical that they renamed The Gangsa private villa Sanur to Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa from the 1st of April. This process includes many extra's next to an upgrade of the existing services and facilities of the 11 villas and resort grounds, such as:
Complimentary 30-minute welcome massage upon arrival,
Unlimited breakfast hours,
Brand new transportation for their complementary shuttle service around the local Sanur area, as the villas are located about 15 minutes’ walk from Sanur center.
And a new Beach Club at Sanur beach to which of course you will have complementary access and return shuttle service as well.
At the Gangsa the service provided by the local Balinese staff makes you feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. And at the same time the stylish yet traditional architecture of the comfortable villas with their lush tropical gardens and grounds around it, and the décor and design of the reception, spa and restaurant create an atmosphere of authenticity and uniqueness for which Bali is renowned and which makes this island so special.
One bedroom private villa
We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa of 400 m2 with 1 bedroom including private outdoor bathroom with bathtub, shower and separate living pavilion downstairs. And actually also 1 smaller bedroom including bathroom upstairs, with a lovely balcony looking out over your compound! All this is set in a spacious private garden with a huge private swimming pool.
Next to the pool we had our own integrated open air living room and dining space completely with fully equipped kitchen where they will serve you breakfast and dinner whenever requested and a complementary high tea daily between 14:30 – 17:30.
Also fresh fruit is provided every day, 24hrs front desk and 24hrs Butler service and of course free WiFi all around. All this made our villa so relaxing and comfortable and provided so much privacy we found it hard to even leave the premises!
The restaurant & Spa
We did however really enjoy the authentic Balinese cuisine of The Gong Restaurant where they have a weekly program of themed dining experiences set in a traditional yet modern décor.
And the beautiful Rebab Spa is excellent as well, their wide range of treatments and heavenly massages made us feel even more relaxed, while being surrounded by lovely traditional elements and tropical vegetation!
I can not recommend the Kayumanis Villas enough! The wonderful staff made us feel completely at home and we wouldn’t mind living there for a few months, as everything was so beautiful, with a unique vibe and kind and welcoming people all around. We can not wait to come back to try out their other 3 locations on Bali as well.
We rounded up our Bali trip with a stay at the other end of the island, in a totally different vibe of the vibrant and trendy city Seminyak at:
4S Villas at Seminyak square
In the middle of Seminyak’s center there’s an open shopping mall called Seminyak square with a multitude of restaurants, café’s, terraces, shops, and a small market & promenade which is always lively. Located just behind that on tropical grounds in a tranquil setting you will find the 4S Villas.
4 private pool villas hidden from the rumour and liveliness of Seminyak, yet completely in the middle of it all. The small cul-de-sac street where the villas are located is peaceful and safe, as it’s blocked from traffic and surrounded by other quiet accommodations. Nevertheles the restaurants and bars are only minutes away and it’s just around the corner of the beach, which was about a 7 minutes’ walk.
The trendy 4S villas are all styled in their own theme of different colors and design, but each of them spacious and unique. With a private pool and tropical garden right next to the open aired living room. The interior is modern with subtle Asian touches, like the traditional high Balinese wooden ceiling. And equipped with all the facilities you need, such as a flat-screen TV with 60 cable channels, Blu-ray player, sound system, iPod dock, free WiFi and much more!
We stayed in Villa Sky
A stylish one-bedroom villa in blue and white tones with romantical details all around. The impressive high pitched white ceiling and comfortable yet stylish furniture completed the look, and the fully fitted kitchen with stove, fridge, blender, toaster and microwave provided us with everything we needed to stay here forever!
The spacious bedroom with direct access to the private pool, the king-sized bed, large dressing area, TV with DVD-player and huge en-suite bathroom were just some of the facilities that made our stay here so comfortable and luxurious!
Each morning our friendly private butler cooked and served breakfast in our villa’s kitchen and made sure our stay here was as relaxing as possible.
The 4S villas really are an oasis of serenity in the center of Seminyak and made a perfect ending to our amazing Bali vacation.
Seminyak
This small city is called Bali’s capital of cool and sophistication for a reason, with its big offering of hip and sophisticated restaurants, lunchrooms, bars, spas and boutiques all around, and a wide beach just around the corner, with daily sunsets and many stylish restaurants located right on the beach. Although I personally prefer the authenticity of Sanur and the tropical & creative vibe of Ubud, Seminyak is really something you should experience. I can highly recommend it when you love shopping, partying, hotspots, luxury and want to explore all that Bali has to offer!
I hope I have convinced you that Bali is a real must visit and these villas are the perfect place to make your holiday here as relaxing and luxurious as possible!
